Client: Clark Thompson, CEO, Neal Electric
Challenge:
“Our organization went through an awful lot of change. We had transferred complete ownership of the company twice in the previous year, and with that we had a substantial turnover in personnel.
The team consisted of many strong individual performers that needed to work together to accomplish bigger goals. We were dealing with very headstrong personalities as well as some negative attitudes.”
Results and Outcome:
“Besides getting along better, our numbers improved substantially. Our workforce grew by 10 percent, our revenues have increased by about 50 percent , and our profits have increased by about 300 percent.
I attribute a lot of that to making changes in our own behavior, not just the fact that we always had many skilled people. Now we are more skilled in working together as a team.”
Client: David Coleman, Former VP, US Steel Corporation
Challenge:
At work, I felt frazzled and didn’t exactly have a clear picture what to do with my career. I was ready to change and developed a strong desire to get my career to the next level, but didn’t know where to start.
Results and Outcome:
I now feel confidence and inner strength, have a clear vision, increased focus, and improved my personal organization. People seek me out. I am more in demand at work and in the community. Most importantly, I am at peace with who I am and what I represent.
Client: Neil Gulley, Senior VP, TRG
Challenge:
Our real estate business was fast approaching a dramatic downturn. To navigate the market shift and remain profitable, we had to restructure operations.
Results and Outcome:
We restructured processes, maximized resources, and repositioned costs. We were able to strip out $6.5 million in annual costs and even win market share from our competitors.
Client: Eric Struik, VP Finance, Callaway Golf
Challenge:
I wanted to become a more effective speaker and be more comfortable in public speaking settings. In particular, my goal was to be more assertive and convincing.
Results and Outcome:
At a recent Board of Directors meeting I was asked to present our Budget for next year. The feedback of my presentation was very positive both in regard to the content and delivery. A couple members of our senior management team specifically pointed out the positive reactions by Board members.
Client: Indra Gardiner, COO, BaileyGardiner creative agency
Challenge:
When my business partner and I first started working with Simon, we were excited but not sure what to expect. We know we had room to grow and wanted to become better
leaders.
Results and Outcome:
Our employees say that we have improved as leaders and listeners. Our work in visioning and setting measurable goals for the future has been most surprising. The more we focus on the vision, and share is with our team, the closer we seem to move toward it. We have found this to be very powerful
Client: Debbie Droubay, Operations Manager, SBT
Challenge:
I was promoted into a position with much more responsibility; I went from a team of about 55 people to over 160.
I remember saying: “I don’t have a life”. I was working an average of 70 hours per week and not spending enough time on the big picture. I was too bogged down in the day-to-day operations.
Results and Outcome: I am holding my team accountable and it shows in our results! Our District was the only one out of 19 in the country last year to exceed our profit plan in all 3 divisions!
I was promoted again and am now responsible for 3 Districts (over 360 people). On a personal note, I have more balance in my life. I am working 55-60 hours a week, and spending my weekends with my husband riding our new Harley (instead of in the office)!
